We created this blog to solicit public input on processing priorities for the National Declassification Center (NDC), to announce new openings of records, and to begin a dialog with you about how the NDC can do a better job in releasing all we can, protecting what we must.
The National Declassification Center, located at the National Archives College Park Maryland facility, was established in accordance with Executive Order 13526, by Archivist David S. Ferriero on December 30, 2009. Its mission is to align people, processes, and technologies to advance the declassification and public release of historically valuable permanent records while maintaining national security.
If you have suggestions for the NDC or questions regarding declassification of Federal records and Presidential materials please contact us at NDC@nara.gov.
